What is Heartworm Disease?

Does my pet need pre-anesthetic blood work?

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, we do request that you call and schedule an appointment. If there are no convenient times, we can schedule a drop off appointment. Do not hesitate to come in immediately (when we are open) in emergency situations.

When does my puppy/kitten need vaccines?

Puppies and kittens need a SERIES of vaccines starting at 8 weeks of age. They receive them every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old.

What vaccines does my pet need?

This may depend on the age, health and life style of your pet. Our veterinarians can help you decide what is best. Visit www.pfizerfrank.com for further information.

Do you offer boarding or grooming?

Unfortunately, no, but we can give you recommendations. Our focus is on providing quality veterinary care.

Does my pet need an exam before it gets vaccinated?

Yes. Your pet needs an exam to insure that it is healthy enough and that there are not other more important health issues that need to be addressed. We recommend annual exams, regardless of vaccines, to provide your pet with the best veterinary care possible.

Do I have to pay at time of service?

Yes. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. Unfortunately, we do not accept Care Credit at this time. We do encourage owners to get pet insurance to help them afford the best care possible for their pet. Visit www.petsbest.com for more details.

When should I spay or neuter my pet?

Most pets should be spayed or neutered between 4-6 months of age. With some smaller/toy breeds of dogs it is better to wait until about 7 months to address common problems with retained baby teeth.

Does my pet need an exam to refill its prescription(s)?

Dispensing or prescribing a prescription requires a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship which involves an annual exam. Routine examinations and periodic blood tests are especially important for pets receiving long term medications because of the possibility of side effects or changes in their health.
